Reading Notes: Paley. Sita Singing the Blues

Paley. Sita Sings the Blues  by Nina Paley: https://www.sitasingstheblues.com/soundtrack

-In the cosmos, the SHiva in a ring of fire, Brahama, Lakshkmi and Vishnu were resting on Shesha, Surya the sun god, Chandra the moon god, and the beating heart of the universe, and the Bhumi the earth goddess.

-I loved the entirety of Greek mythology and that is a big reason why I chose to do notes around gods and goddesses.

-In San Fancisco, we are able to see Nina, her boyfriend Dave, and their cat. They all seem to be happy as the boyfriend just landed a job in India.

-The couple then starts to argue about the date of the Ramayana and whether the story is true or not and also where the story even took place.

-The King Dasharatha had three wives and four sons and Sita being the daughter of janaka, rama's wife, Dasharatha is forced to send Rama into exile by Queen Kaikeyi and he dies of grief after Rama leaves.

-Back to San Francisco airport, Nina kisses her boyfriend goodbye as he leaves for India.
